I think a lot of hope is being put on the new year by many. I do think there will still be some tough elements to it but hopefully not like 2020 which seen lot of death, infection, furlough and general breakdown of business. The hope is the vaccine will hold a big key to gaining some normality again.
Either way some lovely Christmas ornaments on them shelves will help spread good cheer for now during the dark nights ahead. Like a beacon of hope even. ☃️🎄🎅🙂
Will share my Christmas with my "Bubblechum". (She is in my social bubble) She is a dear friend who was widowed some years ago and comes to me at Christmas.
Normally we visit my daughter and grandchildren Christmas morning with presents then return to my house after a stop on the way back for a walk if the weather is nice.
We don't have a Christmas lunch as neither of us have large appetites we just indulge in a lovely cheeseboard (but we do have crackers). I always buy a good red wine for my friend but as I have not touched alcohol for twelve years I have ginger ale.
The day is spent playing cards or scrabble, chatting and listening to music. We may watch TV or a DVD.
My son usually phones and we exchange Christmas greetings. When he is able he drives to see me after Christmas.
But this year will be different as we will not visit my daughter. We will talk on the phone. My grandchildren are in their twenties, both are in relationships, and their partners will be visiting making the three households for her house.
So it will just add to the many different experiences of 2020.
When we say "Happy New Year" on New Years Eve lets hope it will be!
It will be no different for us. We don't do family gatherings and things like that. Years ago Christmas Eve we would call to in laws for while take their gifts round and then collect my mum who would spend 2 or 3 days with us. Now they all gone I enjoy the locking the door and just us and relax watch TV doze whatever. We see couple of neighbours exchange gifts but the main ones in our bubble already.
Being male and kid like! I usually ask for something small and gadget like as amuses me over Christmas then. Now tend to choose myself and order due to wife and her mobility and not knowing what to do to get online.
So Christmas be the same for us. I am expecting in the following weeks in news it to be said numbers increased sadly where families gather and maybe not know they maybe carrying virus, etc. So maybe thinking is it worth the risk but time will tell. The vaccine on horizon is good but maybe spring is when things might have some normality to it again.
So a ramble as always! Nothing changes for us. How about you? Will it allow you to gather with family and friends?

For me - just looking to end 2020! It has been such a tough year for all of us, all for different reasons and I sense hope is in the air for 2021
