I got the name of Parrot Man as I own some birds, am sure you worked that one out! I have a talented mouthy African Grey called Dolly, a chatty and demanding Galah Cockatoo called Pickle and then not forgetting Charlie our little green Quaker who takes delight in dishing orders out to the dogs or just laughing because you are laughing! Used to be involved in parrot rescue years ago and at times had a few more birds here being assessed and then rehomed in due course. As well as breeding Parrotlets years ago and hand raising some of them. Imagine having 3 or 4 babies on ya hands and just as demanding! All shouting for a feed and winding at same time!!
Often it is safer for me to move upstairs for any online meetings as I have a very chatty Dolly who takes delight in getting involved in things as Ma'am may remember in the early days! So upstairs or failing that sat in the car are safest place to avoid Dolly adding her opinions in too!
It's not a bad place to hang round in and such a great bunch on here. If you look through you'll see a bit of banter between myself and Brenda and my countdown to Christmas! 🎄⛄🤶🎅 Our Brenda is the Queen of Christmas with her decorating skills. She has a natural flair and love of the season.
I am quite often the quieter one! I am sure some people might say otherwise of course but I am usually the quiet one lurking in the background somewhere talking to the spiders or something! 🙂
I am sure you will enjoy being in the team and soon master how they like their teas and coffees made. Us on here are generally much easier to please!
Look forward to getting to know you and unless only heard good stuff about me then they must be talking about someone else! 😊🙂☃️
Haha, hello "Parrot Man". Yes, please do not worry, I have heard many good things about you from Wendy! I am very fortunate to be here and I am looking forward to meeting you all, you all sound like an amazing bunch.
I will most definitely go and read those previous posts, I am also very eager to see Brenda's skills on Christmas. I too love the season and would love to see what she comes up with.
@Abigail Orona Why do I find it hard to believe it all be good from Wendy aka Ma'am?! LOL!! I think on a thread somewhere is a couple of pics Brenda shared of her Christmas skills and I wish mine was as good as hers! She has a natural flair for the season in my opinion!
Did Ma'am tell you as the new face on the block it is customary to buy us all gifts???!!!! Now pending on the price cap it can range between a new car and a bar of chocolate! I am good on the car front for now so I am more than happy with a biiiiiiig bar of chocolate!! 😁🤣
I am sure you get to meet us all in due course. I admit there are still many I not met or even heard of I think in my time being about. I guess little thing called the pandemic played a part in that and not all maybe comfy posting or using computers, etc. I do admit in some ways having to move to the online world works well for me against being in the town due to my family commitments and the time involved in that. I am able to hop on and off line much easier to committing a whole morning say to a trip into town for something.
I can also ramble for England so shall be quiet for now as Emmerdale due to start and then Eastenders and couple of things I need to do on this magical box of tricks before I sit down to watch them and doze off!
Nice to meet you and look forward to chatting more. 😀
Thank you so much for your post, it was very sweet of you! Everyone at the council this week has made me feel right at home by giving me such a lovely, warm welcome. I cannot express how honoured I am to be a part of the Tenant Involvement Team, working alongside wonderful people that have been giving me a lot of their time and attention, as well as offering me their help and guidance.
Thank you again Brenda and thank you Wendy, Simon, Justine and Scott; you are all top notch teachers.
Thank you everybody, I am absolutely over the moon and I am wishing all the other fellow apprentices good luck!
Hi Brenda - this young lady has turned out to be pure gold. She is good with computers, has empathy, interested in people and picking things up extremely quickly indeed. She has a healthy sense of humour and has done everything asked of her already brilliantly. The aim now is to keep her in the team - and that is just after day 2! What a stellar start. She will be posting a blog online soon and will be starting arranging meetings for me and Simon next week. I cannot say enough how much of an asset we have found. I will be mentoring her through her CIH qualification Level 2 and can already see this is going to be a pleasure. She has already heard of our own "Parrot Man" and that made her laugh.
