Do anyone know where i can get help with getting a new carpet and underlay as mine was damage due to damp. The underlay needs to be suitable for floor with under floor heating the size of room is 4 meters by 5 meters i have tried the local counsellor but not had any help. I have been with out carpet for the past 8 weeks and would be nice if i could have some before Christmas. I look forward to hearing any possible solutions.
Thanks Justin
Bit of an afterthought but would this have qualified for a claim on your house contents insurance? If you have not got this insurance I would advise you look into the scheme which the council have negotiated with one company - it's rates are very competitive and you can pay it monthly (always a help when budgeting I find).
Another avenue is possible if when you were working did you belong to a union? Many of them have funds available for past members that have found themselves in financial difficulties. It is worth looking into.
I do hope you get the carpet you want but thank goodness that at least you have under floor heating.
Thanks i will look in to it and see what they can do to help me
Have you tried the DWP Social Fund?
You might try ringing one of the advice centres (Barton, Rose Hill or Agnes Smith) to see if they know of any charities or organisations who might help you get a grant towards the cost.
