On Saturday evening I suffered 6 Seizures in twenty minutes and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital under blues and twos, and as you know under Covid restrictions no one is allowed to travel in an ambulance with you nor can anyone come and stay with you in the Accident and Emergency whilst awaiting to be seen. The Ambulance crew made absolute sure that I was comfortable throughout the journey and when I got to an A&E.
The staff at the JR on arrival made sure I knew what was going on and offered to ring my family to say I had arrived safely and was in the best possible place.
The outcome was that after a raft of tests involving xrays, needles, tubes etc it was confirmed that in the preceeding days I had suffered a heart attack,.
The seizures were caused by the stress on my heart and my condition of Functional psychogenic neurological disorder.
The whole time I was at the JR staff were caring, attentive and kept me informed at all times and when the time came for me to be discharged they arranged transport home for me.
These dedicated health professionals deserve thee highest plaudits for their professionalism in their care of patients,
Hospitals are scary places at the best of times but when you have no family support with you due to Covid Restrictions it must be hard for the vulnerable and elderly which increases the workload on the staff,
I am recovering at home but wanted to say a big thank you to all that wre involved on Saturday.
