Dave pleased to say all decorations are up! Lights are all working (and I hope they continue to). Had one or two cards arrive but need to get wrapping the presents now. Hoping that we don't get any last minute changes to the rules so that I get to spend time with my family this Christmas. Sending a photo of the tree which I hope you like.
All the best to you and yours for a great Christmas!
I think possible names for any future duos could be 'Hands' & 'Off' !!
Wendy Ma'am hope you enjoy a cheery yuletide this year. I love watching the film the Grinch! Is one of my films to ensure I watch leading up to Christmas ☃️🎄 along with few select others.
We too have a sprinkling of snow but don't think (and hope) it will not last. Snow looks lovely from indoors and in pictures but not for me I'm afraid. I hope you enjoy your Christmas away - at least you wont see the cats fighting over the turkey!
All I can add is that we tend to avoid Xmas here! However this year I have insisted we go away to somewhere nice. That way I can actually have a Christmas! Being married to a grinch isn't easy as I love Christmas! We have SNOW by the way here :) Just gorgeous, until you try walking in it. Apparently you can get stick ends with crampons on...... Still pondering on that one if it would be a good idea - but would look pretty daft! My news article this morning however would go like one of the slow mo clips on Home Alone - cats arguing as usual over who gets breakfast first - I trip over said cats, fall backwards and hit my head on the scooter which has taken up residence for now in said kitchen (dont ask) and this is all BEFORE coffee!!! Huh.... anyway doing plenty of present pondering here too .
I no longer have my newbies - my granddaughter fell in love with them so they have gone to a new home with her!
Hope you get your new car soon. When I drove a car I owned a Mini, then a Metro and finally a Micra and never got round to naming any of them! I'm sure your pondering will prove fruitful once you have the car in your possession and you get to know any little quirks it may have, Good luck!
Got two new recruits for the decorations - any suggestions for names? My first pair were Pete and Dud then the second pair were Bootsie and Smudge. (No guesses as to the origin of names - think that's obvious.
Love your idea for dividing the cake. I get a slice of my daughter's cake which she makes - it would be too much to tackle a whole one!
I have been thinking on names, I like to ponder such things. So far I have only come up with Wilbur & Walter. Not very good I know. But I keep pondering unless you have named by now. I am pondering names for the pending new car still which I think has made it across the channel and may even be at Dealership going by letters been getting and saying registered, etc.
You are so organized Brenda! I ordered a cake from neighbour this year who makes fab Christmas cakes. Then I be dividing 4 ways between 3 other neighbours who like cake but their family don't so we all get some good cake then!
I written few cards here and like you updated list on some no longer here sadly. Bought couple of new decoration type things on travels. Plan trip to garden centre next month when get new car. Only be 2 months late arriving! I am trying to avoid feeding current car at mo so plan festive trip once new car here which am promised be first couple of days of December at latest and us currently on production line.
Stu's list lodged with Santa and sorted. Do need to do some serious shopping some time. Our Christmas street raffle doing well and great prizes as well as raised some money for a worthy charity. We draw it early December and I been folding and sorting ticket stubs that go in the big tin we now use.
Started decorating yet??
I plan some over next week or so as long as not try and knock myself out again on medical shelf whilst changing clinical waste sack. But that's another story and I saw a few stars!!
Have placed my order with a neighbour for one of her great homemade Christmas cakes which then share with a couple of other neighbours. I made a start on a bit of shopping. Asked my good lady what would she like and got the usual answer of nothing so I am wondering do I surprise her this year and give her an empty box?! I like to love dangerously! Son has already started compiling his list so am expecting him to be extra nice to Dad and bring the completed and no doubt revised list soon after he has amended it many times as knows Santa does have a budget!!
What would I ask Santa for?! Maybe a nice trip somewhere, not have to be warm as Iceland (not the shop either!) sounds a nice idea or being a big kid something pointless and techie for me to play with Christmas Day before I sit and watch the Queens speech and burn the dinner.
So, who's all organised and done their shopping or a large chunk of it by now?? Brenda, have you started putting up your lovely decorations yet?
I know Stuart been making his list! Usually because he plans some game that due out so goes on the list in readiness.
Now the sprouts if you like them nice n mushy I would think around September 1st is a good sort of time to put them on.
The other burning question is. When do you start to decorate? I know someone who leaves lights up all year round and their tree goes up usually by end of July. I say now I am going to start decorating end of October. Not that I ever do but never know 1 year I might!
The in thing is to leave a tree up and decorate according to the time of year so have a valentines tree, Easter themed tree and so on.
So hope your tree or a tree out all year to do this latest trend!
Wow! Looks amazing Brenda! I like Christmas and the build up to it, We used to decorate a lot and most rooms would have something Christmas like there in some form. In recent years it has been less between one thing and another and me not so stable on a ladder these days!
I love the warm feeling you can get from a few nice decorations and lights around, especially in the darker nights and how a decorated tree or bits can add warmth and a welcoming feel to the home. I do find myself looking out for trees and decorations when out and about. We have a couple of places that decorate outside which are always lovely to see.
Just in case not sure just 12 days to go! Ho ho ho!!!
Thank you Dave! Do I take it that 'Living dangerously' will be officially close on Christmas Day and that it's sequel will be published in 2022?
Brenda. Merry Christmas 🌲☃️🌲!!
Tree looks fantastic and as I have heard your Christmas décor is legendary! You have that natural flair for decorating and looks amazing 🙂🎅☃️🌲❄️
I am still a work in process here as had a lot on but you are our Queen of Christmas ☃️🎄🌲 for sure!
Merry Christmas Brenda and all 🙂🎅❄️☃️🎄

Pleased to report preparations are in hand.
1. Made a list of people who want home made mince pies (some ordinary, some gluten free)
2. Updated list of Christmas cards to get (sadly some friends no longer here but few new ones added. Several change of addresses made)
3. Arranged for granddaughter to visit and select some of my decorations for her new home)
4. Purchased some gifts.
5. Arranging dates to see some friends that I have not been able to see in the last two years.
Expect I shall think of other things so will update you as necessary so you know my standards are not slipping!
