At last the Great Estates Work at the rear of 54-112 Barns Road have been completed and we will soon once again be able to access all areas, a low key opening will take place on the 30th March when the residents will have the use of a completely refurbished area that was once a sad ,neglected , dangerous and a haven for undesirables. Residents have a new drying area, seating, planters, safe area for their children to play and wide open spaces we also have new larger storage sheds, security gates and fences to deter those who have no business being here in the boundaries of our properties at night the whole area is flood lit to provide more night time security, it is that bright I don't need to switch the lights on in my kitchen!!!!
All I hope is that the residents respect what has been done after all it was their moans about the state of the place that prompted the Tenant Ambasdadors, the Tenant Involvement Team and Great Estates to embark on this expensive venture and I personally want to thank those involved in making the decision to choose this site.
If anyone wants to come and have a look after the 30th March ( socially distanced of course) contact me and I will show you around ending with a cup of something in my garden.
What is it about this time of the year? I read that Brenda and Dave both have new neighbours and low and behold I am about to have new neighbours after the elderly lady opposite me moved away. Apparently we will be welcoming a young family to our block at the end of next week, they are lucky as they will see a lovely vibrant refurbished area from their windows and not the decline I have seen over the past 25 years.
On a personal note as a Leaseholder I am responsible for most repairs in my flat and having lived here for 25 years things are looking tired so we have embarked on a complete refurbishment, my wife now has a brand new kitchen that has utilised every piece of space available we even have a door direct into the personal garden that we own, having this door negates the need to go through two doors and a gate to enjoy the garden, my Siberian Husky absolutely loves her new found freedom of being able to go in and out as she likes and for me it is a godsend as I can enjoy relaxing on a lounger with a good book, we have had AstroTurf laid in place of the lawn so no longer does my wife have to get out the lawnmower so life is getting easier.
Take care my friends and look forward to the easing of lockdown and have a happy Easter
Great to hear of all the improvements - both inside your own personal space and outside in the communal area.
It's good when ideas come to fruition with such successful results. Let's hope for some fine weather so that you (as well as your wife and dog) can take full advantage of your improved space.
Hadn't thought of that!!!
You are welcome here anytime 👍
Don't shout too loud though about electric light savings! Ya service charges might increase to cover the savings!!!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Sounds like a great place to be now as did look bleak and not very loved before. Sounds like the new beginnings also hit Chez Anthony's too! New kitchen astro turf the lot! Throw in new neighbours got the full set! I will let the dust settle and then arrange a personal tour by the local guide Anthony subject to weather. All I can claim is a new suite coming on Thursday!
I hope everyone enjoys the new look and will enjoy the benefits of it in the good weather and great there is safety for all and safe play area for youngsters. 😀🎄
