Just completed signing up so thought I test things out and make my 1st post and say "Hi!"
Most of you don't know me, name is David or Dave of course! I joined earlier this year and come along to the BBL meet up as well as made the last meeting down the Town Hall for the 1st hour as then had to head home and take wife for her dialysis and my training there. Well am pleased to say we got out of the Renal Unit just before the major lockdown come and started home dialysis sessions which so far have been going great! We have all the back up of course of a dedicated Home dialysis nurse as well as the team at the unit so if have any issues I have people can call as well as the tech team for the machine.
All them months of training and issues we dealt with have paid off and now I put wife on to dialyse every other day which is an added benefit to her and she is benefiting from it all which is the main thing. Life has changed in the sense dialysis fits around us and not us fitting around it so much. Still time consuming but more relaxed and when works for us being at home, a great benefit for my wife, me and our son who has special needs. I call him my nursing assistant as helps with little jobs.
So I am hoping now I can get more involved with things, albeit socially distanced of course and has been a lot for all of us to get our heads round with distancing, lockdowns for us and many others and just generally adjusting to the new situation we all in.
I hope to get to know you all a lot more as time goes by and will be doing my best to attend any meetings that may go on. It has been great hearing from Simon periodically and the updates and hearing that Wendy and everyone is now back in post and doing their thing and adjusting to the new challenges we all having to face.
Okay, as you see I am also a rambler! So shall shut up now! Hoping all is well with all and coping with all that has been happening the last few months.
Dave 😀
Thank you so much for your kind words Dave and Phil. Great thread! Good to know you are all getting used to the portal... much more to follow....
Thanks for the welcome Phil. I did have a look to see if had any reasonable pics of me but don't. The few I do have are old and generally had more hair instead of the bald greying look these days! I have often used a pic of the dog or parrot as usually prettier to me and not as scary!😂
I am looking forward to getting to know more folk and what goes on. Simon has been good showing things as has Wendy. All looks interesting and looking forward to getting involved. The online way is great and something I use fair bit for keeping in touch with people. I try to make a point on checking in each day if I can so can keep up to date on things and people.
Hi Dave.
Great to read your message. Tenant Involvement is such a lovely team. I have been involved on and off for years. At the moment I am back on shifts at work so I have more time on my hands. If my normal Job comes back in October I will mainly be online, (but hope to attend a few more meetings) I have done a Photo so people who never meet me know what I look like, The photos were from my profile as a film extra, unfortunately I have not yet appeared in anything yet.
Take Care
Phil.
