Starting Out by Abigail Orona

Hello, my name is Abigail. I live with my family in a zoo filled with cats, dogs, horses, degus and two brothers. As far as hobbies go, I absolutely love to draw and read, I am actually quite passionate about them. I also like to go on daily walks, do 200 piece puzzles (the 500 piece ones won’t fit on my desk and if I put it anywhere else, you just know one of the cats are going to have a field day with it) and horse riding when there are no horse flies about because they give me the heebie-jeebies. I have been trying to get back into writing more as I definitely don’t do it as much as I used to, if at all. However, I do believe that writing this blog may help by giving me a bit more confidence which I hope then encourages me to write.
I started my first ever apprenticeship for tenant involvement with the Oxford City Council on Wednesday, which has made this week a very eventful one for me. The first day went extremely well. I was outside the Council a good half an hour before I was supposed to be, I met a lot of people who made me feel very welcomed and it was easy to settle in. I even received a laptop that I would soon be using to carry out my work and my own company phone which enables me to annoy the Tenancy Involvement Team as much as my heart desires!
The following day however, did not go so well. It started out great with the bus arriving right on time and sailing smoothly from bus stop to bus stop. That was until we entered town and I noticed that the road was completely covered by cars. This abysmal traffic caused me to be quite late and if that hadn’t been enough to send me into a dreaded panic, getting exceptionally lost in the building shortly after entering certainly did the trick. Thankfully, I did eventually find where I was supposed to be and settled in nicely. The feelings of dread soon subsided and the day then went on to become another success.
I will be updating you all regularly on my journey with the lovely Tenant Involvement Team!
